The paper describes an integrated analysis of the opportunities of modern 3D seismic exploration technologies for revision of the geological structure of hydrocarbon accumulations having complicated geological structure by the example of the Timan-Pechora Petroleum Province. The work relevance is related to the need to optimize the hydrocarbon field development in the late stage, when conventional approaches to further appraisal are often insufficiently adequate and the low economic indicators require both technological solutions and updating of geological structure. The study presented is based on comparison of 1993 and 2022 seismic survey results, and demonstrate clearly the technological advancement in geophysical exploration. Particular attention is paid to innovative methods of seismic data processing. The authors demonstrate that, as a result of technological progress, modern interpretation methods have reached a new level of detail in resolving geological features of the section. An example is presented that shows the significant differences in new seismic data and previously accepted stratigraphic benchmarks; this is especially the case for the Domanik Bottom (IIId Reflector). The modern data allowed correcting the accepted correlation of oil and gas bearing beds. The next stage will be redistribution of oil and gas saturated thickness on the basis of the updated correlation, which will allow revision and optimisation of the development system in operation.
