The development and calibration of digital geomechanical and hydrodynamic models of hydrocarbon accumulations for subsequent assessment of reserves, well deliverability, land subsidence, and other related tasks are based on the results of laboratory studies of rock mechanics and filtration properties on core samples. To date, a wide range of approaches to conducting such studies exists, including laboratory modelling of physical processes, the selection of controlled and measured parameters, and analytical processing of the experimental results. The authors discuss methodological approaches developed by them: for laboratory modelling of the dynamics of thermobaric, stress–strain, and filtration conditions during the course of hydrocarbon reservoir depletion using core samples; for mathematical modelling of poroelastic and flow–capacity properties variations in reservoir. The proposed methodological approach to integrated laboratory investigations combines simultaneously performed geomechanical, ultrasonic, and filtration tests on core samples with mathematical modelling of poroelastic properties behaviour using a modified differential–discrete method. This method is based on analytical processing of a continuous sequence of data recorded during laboratory simulation through the calculation of moving average values of key parameters at each moment of the test.
