The Khadumsky deposits represent one of the most promising targets for expanding the resource base. Ultra-low permeability, lithological heterogeneity, and a complicated tectonic setting classify these deposits as difficult-to-recover and pose significant technological and geological risks for their development. Developing and updating a scientific and methodological framework for identifying priority development zones within the Khadumsky deposits based on an integrated analysis of multiple factors is an important task in addressing the challenges the oil and gas community faces in bringing these reserves into commercial development. Within the framework of preparing a development strategy and integrated proposals for selecting the most promising zones for pilot work, the results of reservoir and elastic-strength property studies were analysed and statistically processed. The results were compared with previously obtained data on the rock lithological and geochemical differentiation into two types with different hydrocarbon potential and reservoir properties. Based on the integrated analysis, carbonate-argillaceous rocks corresponding to the second (most promising) rock type, as well as the sub-ostracod (lower) part of the section as a whole, were identified as having more favourable reservoir properties. According to geomechanical characteristics, the most suitable intervals for hydraulic fracturing, considered the most promising stimulation technology, are confined to the basal intervals of the Khadumsky section. By integrating the conducted studies and evaluation criteria within the framework of the Khadumsky deposit development strategy, the authors obtained results that expand the scientific and methodological basis for further exploration and for ranking pilot areas by their development potential within the Khadumsky deposits of East-Northern Caucasus.
