The authors present the results of stratigraphic breakdown of Lower Cretaceous deposits in Payakha oil and gas accumulation zone (Ust-Yenisei district, West Siberian north-east) carried out as a part of petroleum potential evaluation of the territory. Relying on new guide fauna group records, the presence of sixteen biostratigraphic units within the Yanovstansky, Gol’chikhinsky, Nizhnekhetsky, Shuratovsky, and Sukhodudinsky formations has been substantiated. Based on ammonites, bivalves, and foraminifera, these units are classified as zones and layers containing fauna. The correspondence between seismostratigraphic sequences and the zonal units of the biostratigraphic scale is demonstrated. In the territory of the Pritaimyrsky subregion, it is proposed to divide the interval of Ryazanian, Valanginian, and lower Hauterivian sections into shelf and clinoform parts. The upper part of the clinoform sequence corresponds to the Pimsky member, while the upper boundary of the Nizhnekhetsky Formation – with the Tagrinsky that comprises clay members. Based on new biostratigraphic data correlated with the geoseismic model of the study area, a seismic stratigraphy model of the Lower Cretaceous sedimentary sequence architecture is proposed, featuring a new unified indexing of pay and promising beds. A uniform nomenclature of Valanginian pay beds is created by eliminating the indexing of the Нск and Д horizons and replacing them with their stratigraphic equivalents—the СД horizons. The Baikalovsky Бк6–Бк12 horizons are reindexed as СД0–СД3 horizons as they are the age equivalents of the Verkhnesukhodydinsky member. Indices of the Baikalovsky Бк0–Бк5 horizons are replaced by МХ3 and МХ4.
