The authors discuss the results of reservoir quality studies in the sandstones of the anomalous Bazhenov section in stratigraphic well drilled in the Zaozernaya area, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug – Yugra. During the course of the well construction, two reservoir layers were identified — 2,2 and 2,6 m thick with the porosity of 13 % and permeability of 0,047–0,040 mD. Testing of these intervals yielded oil shows as a film. A method for designing an acid treatment composition to reliably improve reservoir hydrodynamic characteristics is presented. Hydraulic fracturing and creation of a fracture of the designed length in the well were complicated by several geological and technological factors; they are: poor reservoir properties, lithological heterogeneity, as well as small thickness of the object and presence of an unsealed perforated interval in the overlaying Cherkashinsky Fm. To enhance the production potential of the anomalous Bazhenov section, it was necessary not only to improve the reservoir properties but also to establish connectivity between permeable intervals within the sand body. To mitigate the mentioned risks and successfully complete the task, an integrated technological program was developed that enabled efficient well stimulation, analysis of the reservoir quality and production characteristics of the object, and establishment of oil inflow. The conformity of the obtained fractures with the design was verified using microseismic monitoring of hydraulic fracturing.
